this is the beginning of one of the craziest stories I've told thusfar:

one of my pals introduced me to this crazy abandoned mall. It was halted in mid-construction when the economy went tits-up and had been a vacant little ghost town for years.

We found this crazy shaft and dropped this rickedy ladder down it. Its was totally dark and we had only our cellphones to guide us through the gigantic football-field-sized basement. Even in good light, I doubt you could see one end of the room from the other. It was filled with a complete set of commercial kitchen equipment, park lights, park benches, fake plants, fake paintings, broken shelves, millions of boxes, chairs, and a busted golfcart ..plus like a billion other things and mice.

We felt like wed stumbled upon some amazing ancient treasure trove. I'll never again know a sensation to match what I felt in there. us holding our cellphones like a couple of dumbasses.

There was a lot more to that and the following night that i cant hope to justly compact into a comic, but I'll give you my best.

Naz and I. we're like the goonies.

Where did you find such a long ladder? (Or was it not as far down as it looks?)

Also, great job, man. The shading, everything, it's great.

we found the ladder in another part of the construction site, we then dropped it down the shaft. We actually had to climb down some sketchy I-beams to get to the ladder. I wasnt sure it was gonna hold up, but i was even more concerned that it would slip down the wall with our weight on it. It was very precarious to be sure.

If this is where I think it is (Co springs native here), then damn your lucky. I've always wanted to raid the place. I should do it next month on my birthday. that'd be rad

oh man don't doit. Last I heard they've got patrols all over just waiting to bust kids the moment they set foot innit. They've forsure installed motion detectors in the basement and maybe in other places too. Sorry friend :(
