Our first day we hadn't gotten a single ride, and then the night was crazy harsh. We had to keep walking just to not freeze.
Walking along the highways at four in the morning makes everything feel surreal and and pretend. Like I'm just goofing off in some strange dream. But we went along and we got up some slopes as the sun rose, marking out second day.
Im not usually impressed with sunrises. On the whole, they're a lot less climactic and scenic than sunsets. But seeing this sunrise glowing over the fresh mountain snow, seen through my breath vapors.. with andrew's muffled footfalls and the clinking of all my gear was something holy. I wish I could describe it better.

AndrewSindri learned a lesson about sleepingbags that night.
I have a bad memory, but I try to keep this moment in my head. it's a good one.

The coloring in that third and fourth panel.... Oh my god its so beautiful!!!

I really want to learn to be sexy with color like you are. But comparing to the first page is always motivating, on any of these comics. Shows the potential for improvement.

thanks so much dude. sexy coloring is some long hard work and no mistake. some comic makers with really good color work are tyson hesse (boxerhockey)and aaron diaz(dresden codak)I look up to them. And looking at their beginning work is likewise an encouragement

I love Aaron Diaz's style! I'll have to look up Boxer Hockey! What programs do you use for this comic, anyway?

Oh, duh. I shoulda mntioned that in the tutorial. I use corel painter essentials 4 for the line work (exclusivley because I like their "scratchboard" brush) and everything else is colored and edited in photoshop elements 9. This software is pretty basic, but fits me just fine.

I like that your comic immortalises these memories a bit, helping with the bad memory.

Quality work as always! (I should get better at commenting, aaa)

Im always honored by your comments ^-^
I double check my comics with friends sometimes. It's sorta shocking how bad my memories are.
Without my journal I'd probably forget my name.

WOAH! dude. that was so long ago, I was a junior in highschool when I started this mess. That is crazy, Im glad you've stuck it out through all those dumb-as-hell beginning episodes. thanks for reading!

I could just hang out in that last panel. I normally hate snow and cold, but it's amazing how much more appealing it is when it's orange. It looks warm and pleasant.
