This is just more being on a truck. This whole ride I was just sorta sliding in and out of consciousness, I was so effin beat. I would wake up sometimes to find I was in the middle of a onesided conversation with Driver. He could talk the hind leg off a horse, to borrow the expression. And Im not shitting you about the 2 packs a day. I don't know how anyone finds the time to smoke that much.
And the places we were driving through were ..intriguingly dull. like absolute nothingness. almost as though we were in a world between worlds, in a different dimension of horrific emptiness devoid of form and matter but for a single straight 4lanehighway :O

Driver's brand is pall mall
AndrewSindri can read a map
I can't read a map and I get lost all the damn time.

It's been great reading about your adventures, and living semi-vicariously through them. I used to be a big fan of John Eldredge, and I still have a special place in my heart for Wild at Heart. It got me through some crucial times in my young male life. I lost my faith long ago, but I still revisit it from time to time. If you haven't had a look at it, Robert Bly wrote a book called 'Iron John' that Eldredge gleaned quite a bit from. It's a much more secular, philosophical, exposition of the masculine soul. I've got a copy with your name on it if you're ever in Denver. Take care and Adventure on.

I used to have such a chip against that Eldredge guy. I gave it up a while ago, chips are heavy and stuff. Iron John sounds cool, but Im afraid Im not in denver much these days.

Driving through the night is just like this. You got the mood and light totally right. Sent me back to the routes of the past.
