AndrewSindri and me had a freakin blast on this trip. It was great to travel with such good company.
We did a lot of talking and shared a bunch of experiences. He sorta softened my perspective on life in a buncha little ways. I'm infinitely grateful for having him along with me.

As for the asking/taking debate, it's still tumbling about in my head - but since then I've stopped thieving from supermarkets (it's come to my attention that it is not a victimless crime, im learning something new everyday) and I've been entertaining the ethical views of asking more. It's still a tricky topic for me but I found a compelling TED talks lecture and had a couple more good conversations .. its the song that never ends. whatever.

The next chapter will be hard for me. and hard for you. NC was hard. I've got a couple hitching trips in the near future so expect a lot of delays, if you don't expect them already.

I hate to say this because the way we look at things differently, but you are a very talented artist. you can make "any" picture look good, no matter how trivial or boring it may appear. You have my respect as an artist. If that means anything. Anyway, I see you going far at what you can obviously do. And I also hate to say are a better artist than ..gasp...I.

that's high praise man, thanks a bunch. Making the trivial look good could likely be some coping mechanism of mine to spin my relatively simple life into more of a swash-buckling-adventure. I'm still sorta wonder why i started this thing in the first place. but whatever, it's been fun so far.

the asking/taking debate is easier than you are making it, i think you've already found that answer.
... the real balance to strike, not necessarily debate, is between receiving and giving ... ask, and receive with an open and grateful heart, ... and try to give to others with the same openess without expectation, and feel grateful in the same measure of gratitude that you have the ability to contribute ... your creativity and capabilities will keep the balance an easy one for you, i reckon
