hey gang. sorry for the little delay. the buffer ran out while my comp was in the shop. My equipment is in.. a state of perpetual unpreparedness. Im waiting on a new mirco usb cable for the tablet.. every good artist has excuses for why they suck at deadlines. moving right along

I was trying some new things with this piece. Im gonna have a couple full color, full page bits between comics. since all orange is hard to challenge myself with. you know. anyway, played with lines, played with shading, gotta work on my trees because they are well they could be better.

honestly I think I made the lines, and sequentially the colors, a little too light... but thats what these tests are for! *puts on labcoat*

more of the actual comic tomorrow.

Looks good, except the outlines that look a little dim. The trees are fine.
For the outlines my advice is that you should duplicate the layer in multiply mode, put this layer on top of all the others. Dont know what software you use though, but this is a basic photoshop trick.
Also, beware of very broad colour paletes. In this case you nailed it.

thanks! solid advice man. I probably wont revisit this piece though. I dont like re-working stuff for too long, Im a little immature like that.

You must have the hardiest hobbit feets ever. How often do you wear shoes on your adventures?
uradhere 1st May 2012, 6:39 PM edit delete reply
in this new world of ours, the ground is usually made out of concrete and asphalt. I only went barefoot in the occasional forest or field. By the time it was over, my shoes were in bits and my feet where like rocks.

Great. Not that I didn't like the orange hue (which is so reminiscent of past memories); but I like a change from time to time.

Love the textured water, by the way.
